Overview of Course
This course provides an overview of the Care and Maintenance of PEG Tubes and Low Profile Gastrostomy Devices used for Enteral Feeding. It looks at nutrition and malnutrition and conditions that create the need for Enteral feeding. It is underpinned by best practice guidelines and evidence based research. It explores Infection Control issues that may arise in the care and management of gastrostomy tubes. Outlines Types of tubes available and Tube position and stoma care. Safe administration of medication via gastrostomy tubes is discussed and management of potential complications are explored.
