Overview of Course

This course provides a comprehensive overview of Dementia. It explores the various types and potential causes and treatments of Dementia, with a focus on non pharmacological approaches. It looks at the behaviours that often cause distress to the person themselves as well as to the care staff. It helps to make sense of the symptoms and the best tried and tested approaches to enhance the wellbeing of those with Dementia. It also discusses the impact of the environment on those with Dementia and highlights the importance of communication in Dementia Care.

The aim of this course is enhance the knowledge about Dementia and all the aspects that surround it whilst providing the skills to equip healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care to those with the many different types of Dementia.
